LOTS OF BIG NEWS

Hi everyone, need to catch up on a few things that have been happening over the last few weeks. First big lot of news is for Will. Last weekend was the final game of softball for the season. Lots of fun, games and water balloons! All the kids were presented with a medal after the game, then they did some special presentations and Will got one for the "under 10's most valuable and consistent player". He was wrapped and keeps his little trophy at the end of his bed so he can see it as soon as he wakes up in the morning.
Next exciting news arrived on Tuesday afternoon...Gary, Jen, Hughie and Nikita! The kids have been on cloud nine and have hardly had time to draw breath. As you can see from the photos we have been in the pool at the caravan park and on the swings at the playground.
Here are the girls on the beach at Dolphin Heads. Laura is collecting crabs and Nikki is pretending to be a starfish.

We also went for a drive to the marina to see the boats/ships and then to a big playground in Mackay which our kids love. Don't Hughie and Nikita look cute before we let them loose on the playground equipment.
Luckily we didn't do all this on the one day, we have tried to space things out to conserve a little energy. I think the kids are holding out beautifully, it's the parents who are getting a little tired. Zzzzzz... We brought a tent and the kids have been taking turns to sleep in it. The first night we tried all four in it at once, what were we thinking?!! Since then we found pairs work much better. At the moment Gaz and family are in Airlie Beach for a few nights, they will be back Thursday for another week of fun in the sun before flying home.
Chris, Gaz and Will went fishing the other night at the beach. No luck with fish but they did get a big sea snake. What has happened to my Great White Hunter, aka Stevo, who used to put fish on the table at least once a fortnight? Now I'm resorting to buying it from the supermarket in a box!
Oh, we heard from Spotty and Co. the other day with some more brilliant news. The mighty Colac Braves seconds team won the baseball grandfinal and we are so proud of them. If it didn't mean leaving this warm weather and wonderful relaxing lifestyle, we wished we could have been there! A few days later we got a photo of a tattoo saying "Braves" on a certain persons arm. It looks great and we heard that this certain person also has the team song tattooed on his left buttock...any truth in the rumor?
