- I grew up in a little rural town called Colac with my family (mum, dad and 2 sisters). After year 12 I moved to Darwin to study nursing and had a wonderful time!! I returned to Shepparton in Victoria when I was 23 and worked for a few years at the Goulburn Valley Base hospital. In 1998 I got engaged to Chris who lived in my old home town of Colac. He was working as a dairy farmer at the time (and is a cheese maker by trade). I have known Chris for many years and we now have two young children (Will and Laura) who are both school age. While we travel I will be doing most of the home schooling. Before travelling I was working part time in a private medical clinic and casual shifts at our local hospital. I really love my job and will miss nursing. We plan to take about 2 years to go right around Australia, spending a bit longer in some places than others. When we finish the nomadic life we will search for a place to build our dream home and sell our home in Colac.
