Monsoonal Rains

Here are the kids with Caz on Casuarina Beach.
The rain has been coming down fairly constantly for the past three days. Terrible for drying washing but better for the humans! Although the humidity is over 80% most days the temperature is only in the high 20's - low 30's, so much nicer. The thunder and lightening is amazing and we often sit on Caz's front verandah to watch the show.
The kids needed a rest after walking thru' the park at Rapid Creek.
How do you like these beautiful dresses Caz made for us. Laura got one too. Cool and cute, and we look like twins!!
Well kids are coming up to week 6 at school. So far so good. Lots of homework but we are getting thru' it. I'm still doing lots of shifts in the orthopaedic ward, even survived 4 night shifts last week.
Craig is up this weekend (Caz's fella) so we sat up having a yak and a few drinks last night. "Cheers" to our dear friend Sam Simpson who had her 40th birthday yesterday down in Colac. Wish we could have been there, I know it would have been a blast! But good news is she will be up soon with the family and we can have a little celebration then.
Well life has settled into a very comfortable pattern here in Darwin. All going well at Caz's, although Laura had to say goodbye to both "Silly" and "Dotsy" last week which was a little sad. They were the last kitten and last puppy we had to get rid of, but never fear, in true Caz style she has ordered some fertilised eggs from the "chook man" and we might end up with some little chicks in a month or so!

Relaxing Weekend...

No work for me this weekend, well none that I get paid for anyway!! Have just finished 5 morning shifts and I'm still enjoying work so that's good.

Off to the Parap Markets this morning with Caz, kids are already begging for some spending money. First I need to get Chris out of bed. They have lots of lovely fresh fruit and vegies and heaps of crafty stalls, my favourite. I am definately buying some "Pa Pia" too, I think that's the word. They are little spring roll things with a sweet 'n' sour sauce, mmmm, very yummy.

Then this arvo we are going to spend the day at the house Caz is housesitting for the weekend. We can have a swim in the pool and watch a movie on the big TV screen, very relaxing. Might even take some photos to show you, if I get motivated. Haven't been taking many lately, too slack.

Waiting for a call in a few minutes from Tanya and the crew. Must say I am missing the family a bit lately. Would just like to see them all and give them a big cuddle, then I could go off for a little while again maybe. Had a big chat with Chris the other day and still haven't found "the perfect place" for us to settle down. Will keep looking as we go down the west coast in September, but it's a long way from everyone over there. Have heard lots of great stories about the west coast and the lovely scenery, but would need to be close to an airport at least so people could fly over without too much trouble if they wanted. (Sherbie, I mean YOU and Gerard!) Maybe after all that travelling we might still end up back in Colac...I don't think that would be a bad thing and neither does Chris or the kids, it's just not the way we saw it happening when we left. Still, it's a bit early to decide yet, we will think about it a bit more...
